THE PMSC NEWS BLOG The club maintains a Web Log (or "Blog"). PURPOSE The purpose of the blog is to keep members up-to-date on current events. The blog is NOT for towpilot/instructor scheduling (we have another website for that), and it is NOT for official information, documents, or reference material (we have our own website for that). Blog content will be restricted to news, weather, weekend reports, etc. In other words, the blog is for short-lived information. Frequently asked questions and answers follow. Contact Rick or Andy if you need further information about the blog. WHO CAN READ THE BLOG? Anyone in the world. WHO CAN POST A COMMENT ON A BLOG ENTRY? Anyone in the world. WHO CAN CREATE A BLOG ENTRY? Any member of the club. PRIVACY ISSUES Because the blog is public, we will not be posting any email addresses, real addresses, passwords, or phone numbers. This goes for the Comments section as well as the blog entry itself. HOW DO I GET STARTED? Go to the blog, read it, and try to post a comment on one of the blog entries. Comments can be anonymous, or you can identify yourself with your name or initials. HOW DO I CREATE A NEW BLOG ENTRY? A blog entry is called a "post." Go to the blog and click on "Sign in" in the upper right corner. Enter our Google userid and password on the next page and you will be taken to the place where you can create or edit posts. Posts are not permanent. You can edit or delete them. WHAT SHOULD I SAY? Whatever you like. However, before creating a new post, you should consider whether your idea is a comment on a previous post, or a new topic. Don't forget the privacy concerns. ANYTHING ELSE? Yes. Put your first name or initials in the area labeled "Labels for this post" when you create a new post. WHERE ARE THE ADDRESSES, USERIDS AND PASSWORDS? Elsewhere. This document, like the blog, is public.
